About Me
My name is Kara Jacobs. I have been teaching Spanish in public school for over 20 years. During that time, I have changed my teaching style tremendously. I started as a traditional-textbook-grammar notes-vocabulary lists-teacher and have now transitioned to being a ADI-cultural content-proficiency focused-authentic resources using-teacher! I use this blog to reflect on my teaching and to share resources.
I addition to teaching and blogging, I am also a presenter, resource creator, and consultant.
I am married to a former Economics teacher and now computer programmer! We have two sons, ages 17 and 14. We live in the beautiful state of New Hampshire. I love to travel with my family and with my students too! I am also a runner. I have run seven marathons... and during those long training runs is where many of my ideas come to me!
Hello! I love your blog. It has so many ideas and resources.
ResponderEliminarI was wondering about the resources for Gran Hotel....I can't seem to find them anywhere. What am I missing?
Thanks for your time!
And my name is Travis, by the way.
ResponderEliminar:) Yay! Buena suerte y gracias!
Eliminar¡Hola! I met you at the end of your session at the just-finished MaFLA conference. I was hoping to find resources/songs of yours for Spanish 1. Anything you can direct my way would be great!

Kara, how can I contact you about TpT? I just made a big purchase from you $25 and one of the songs/stories it says is there, is not. rififield@kitteryschools.com
ResponderEliminarHello. I tried to email you but it got kicked back to me. I fixed the problem (I think it was that El Mismo Sol was not there?). If you re-download it, it will be there. Sorry about that! I uploaded the new pic when I updated that bundle, but forgot to upload the actual doc. I appreciate you telling me. You can email me at ceauthres at gmail. if you have any other questions.

Hi Ms. Jacobs. I love your blog and all your wonderful ideas. I do have a question. I want to do the flipgrid activity of "La rutina de la mañana" tat you created. How did you put all the short videos under the same topic. That is awesome!!
ResponderEliminarMy school email is angela.johnson2@atlanta.k12.ga.us

Hola! You are amazing! Thank you so much for sharing your hard work! I've been teaching Spanish 1-3 for high school students, and my students always struggle with understanding ser/estar. How do you teach that concept? I have found that focusing too much on the grammar just doesn't help in the long run, so I'm looking to create a mini unit based on an authentic resource to teach ser/estar. What do you think?
